Stansbury Mountains

The Stansbury Mountains are a high elevation island of mountains perched above the desert west of Salt Lake City. The mountains have terrific ski terrain similar to that of the Wasatch and some really unique views of the Great Salt Lake and the surrounding desert landscape far below. This is yet another whole range of mountains where access is difficult in winter, as access points are set back from the peaks by several miles. Again, thought, with the use of a snowmobile a private skiing area awaits.

We mostly ski between 8,000' and 11,000' in elevation on the east side of the range. The skiing areas vary from open meadows to aspen and pine glades and steep rock-lined couloirs. This is yet one more spot that is not to be missed.
