About 40 air-miles east of the storied Wasatch Range, the Uinta Range extends east along the Utah/Wyoming border like a giant alpine crescent. The snowcapped peaks of the Uintas are the highest mountains in the state of Utah and, somewhat surprisingly, they are off the radar of most all skiers, largely due to a lack of developed ski resorts. Ski touring access points are also set back by several miles of snow-covered roads in winter requiring either serious motivation, freakish fitness, or the helpful throttle of a snowmobile to enjoy the area. With the right tools, though, obstacles related to access can be overcome, revealing some of the area’s greatest attributes: remote and untapped wilderness!

We ski in the northwestern and north-central portions of the range, generally between 9,000' and 11,000’. Ski runs vary from moderate alpine meadows to steep, gladed, tree-lined hallways. On the northern side of the compass, the snow normally stays cold and dry all season. Adventure awaits with a ski trip to the Uintas!
